No. 5 – Clemson at Boston College

This game happens in Week 6 of the college football season. By that point, there are usually a decent pool of teams that are still undefeated, so if two of those teams face off, that game will move towards the top of the list of attractive games.

If Clemson is undefeated for this game, it means they have defeated Wake Forest and NC State. If Boston College is undefeated for this game, it means they have defeated Florida State and Louisville. That would mean the winner between the Tigers and the Eagles would be the most likely to win the ACC Atlantic and go to the championship game.

Unfortunately, even if both are undefeated, ESPN still isn’t likely to pick this game.

Most likely: Texas A&M at Alabama

I apologize to all those who suffer from SEC fatigue in advance, but the reality is that ESPN would choose two undefeated teams battling for the lead in the SEC West over two undefeated teams battling for the ACC Atlantic every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Even if either SEC team dropped a game in a freak upset, its still possible that ESPN would choose this over Clemson at Boston College, or most any other game in the nation this Saturday.

It’s Nick Saban versus Jimbo Fisher. Gameday’s producers are probably already booking hotel rooms.
