Clemson football fans won’t be allowed at Notre Dame in 2020

While many Clemson football fans hold out hope of attending an away game or two during the 2020 season, they can cross Notre Dame off the board.

The most exciting road game for Clemson football this season has been the match-up against historic power Notre Dame, but we won’t see any Tiger fans making it into the stadium this time around.

The Athletic’s Pete Sampson reported Monday morning that Notre Dame will have a stadium capacity of 20 percent or less with tickets being limited to Notre Dame students, faculty and staff. Sampson said no outside fans will be allowed, masks will be required and tailgating will be prohibited.

The only fans outside of the Notre Dame ‘bubble’ who will be allowed in the stadium is the parents of the players.

No trip to South Bend for Clemson football fans

We all knew that it wasn’t likely to see Tiger fans be able to get their hands on many tickets to road games this season, but there are still Clemson football fans who are hoping to make some road trips.

That trip to South Bend, though? That’s not going to happen. At least, if you’re looking for tickets and a chance to be inside the stadium. While there will still likely be a small group of Clemson fans make their way up to simply take in some new sights, they’ll still have to watch the Tigers on their television when it comes time.

While it’s certainly not what we all want to see- as we’d all like to see full capacity stadiums and be able to travel freely- it’s a small sacrifice to pay if we’re still going to be able to see football, which is the end goal.

Clemson travels up to Notre Dame on Saturday, Nov. 7 for what very well may be a preview of the ACC Championship game in December.
