A breakdown of the Clemson football roster shows how far the paw travels.

Clemson football has been able to extend its recruiting borders from the southeast and has now gone global. The white tiger paw is among the most iconic brands in the sports world today and people from all over the world are taking notice.

One look at the current Clemson roster shows how just powerful the Clemson brand is.

The 2020 Clemson football roster is the most diverse the Tigers have ever had. These young men represent three different countries, two different continents, and 18 different states.

The Tigers have players from the United States, Canada, and Nigeria which represents both North America as well as African continents.  The 18 different states is also a first for the Tigers as well. Players as far away as California and as far north as Massachusetts in the continental United States.

Looking back ten years ago to the 2011 Clemson football roster, you see quite the change.

Back then, the Tigers had athletes from 11 different states, which included a walk-on from California and they still had athletes from Massachusetts as well. They certainly did not have international recruits let alone all the way from West Africa.

Taking a look at the age of this roster should scare a lot of people, especially since every single player gets a free year of eligibility.

There are 120 total players on the roster – 85 scholarships and 35 walk-ons. There are currently 82 underclassmen, this includes all redshirt freshmen, redshirt sophomores, true freshmen and true sophomores.

The remaining 38 players are considered upperclassmen which includes graduate students, redshirt seniors, redshirt juniors, true seniors, and true juniors.

Not only is this the most talented roster Clemson football has ever had, but it also is one of the youngest in the country. While we have no idea what will happen to guys like Trevor Lawrence, Travis Etienne, Xavier Thomas, Carman Jackson or Justyn Ross after the season is over, we do know that they are showing the younger guys on the roster how to prepare and play like champions.

Who knows, maybe they all come back in 2021!
