Clemson Football: Could 5-star DT Payton Page be nearing decision?

The 2021 Clemson football recruiting class is already considered one of the best in the nation.

The Tigers picked up several quality commitments- headlined by the nation’s No. 1 overall player in 5-star DE Korey Foreman– during the Elite Junior Day earlier this winter and will be looking to mold the class a little more over the course of this spring and into the summer.

One of the top targets in the 2021 recruiting cycle for Clemson football is 5-star DT Payton Page, and it’s not hard to see why.

The Tigers are only expected to take one defensive tackle in the cycle and Page is the focus currently.

When watching his film, you see a special player. Page is huge- just as big, maybe bigger than Dexter Lawrence when he came to the Clemson football program- and still moves with great athleticism. His physicality and strength are unmatched in this class and he has the ability to develop into a top-10 draft pick before it’s all said and done.

Obviously, Clemson football would love to pair him with the likes of Foreman, Bryan Bresee, Myles Murphy and Demonte Capehart.

Recruiting insiders have said for a while that Page could be nearing a decision and likely won’t hold out his recruitment longer than he has to. The Tigers reportedly impressed him on the last visit and are considered the favorites to win the 5-star’s services.

Could we see the talented defensive tackle make a commitment? His official announcement date hasn’t been set yet, but Page is certainly one for Clemson football fans to keep their eyes on as we progress into the spring and the summer.

He is clearly one of the prospects that the Tigers are recruiting the hardest and would be an absolute ‘homerun’ pick-up in this 2021 class.
