5. Woody Dantzler
The high-flying Woody Dantzler comes in at number five on our list. Dantzler was one of the most electrifying running quarterbacks of the time and still holds several Clemson football records including most rushing yards by a quarterback for a game (220), for a season (1,061), and for a career (2,761).
Dantzler took over a 1-2 Tommy Bowden-led team in 1999 as a redshirt sophomore and led them to the Peach Bowl. He finished the season with 1,506 yards passing and nine touchdowns. The next season, he followed those numbers up with 1,691 yards passing, 10 touchdown passes, and 950 rushing yards while leading the Tigers to a nine win season.
In 2001, Woodrow Dantzler put on a show to remember. Although Clemson only won seven games that season, Dantzler put up monster numbers, throwing for 2,360 yards and rushing for 1,061 yards while accounting for 27 total touchdowns.
