In the extended wake of Tait Reynolds playing his best game in a Clemson uniform, he decided to kick Florida State while the Seminoles were down and out of it. Ahead of Wednesday's meeting with the media, he shared his thoughts on Florida State potentially pumping in some crowd noise. Reynolds had a hard time processing the sound coming out of Doak Campbell with the lack of people there.
"I think Florida State was playing some crowd noise. They got louder like throughout the game. So I was like, 'What the heck?' And there was nobody there. It got loud," Reynolds said. "So there was a couple of times, but this week should be loud, so it'll be good." Syracuse has played better football of late. The Orange always get up for the Tigers. It will be a home game for Syracuse inside of a dome.
With Reynolds taking better care of the football, as the first-team offense has not turned it over in any of the last three games, he is playing with even more confidence now. Reynolds has completed 65.1 percent of his throws for 1,285 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions. With four or five more games left to be played, look for his stat line to rapidly improve, regardless of any crowd noise.
Shots fired from Clemson QB Tait Reynolds? 🤣

Tait Reynolds is starting to feel himself in the second half of the season
This may be a trap game for Clemson taking on Syracuse, but do not tell that to the Tigers coming in. How they responded to an embarrassing home loss to Virginia Tech with a strong showing at Florida State shows that this team has no quit in it. Although it did take a minute for the offense to find its footing under Reynolds, he is starting to blossom into the player he was projected to become initially.
Even if Dabo Swinney has already hitched his wagon to Reynolds at QB1 for next year, Reynolds has to recognize how sneaky-good Clemson's next opponent is. As long as Steve Angeli gets the start for Syracuse at quarterback, the Orange could be in a position to pull off the slight upset. Since coming back from an ankle injury, Angeli has guided Syracuse to upset wins over North Carolina and SMU.
Right now, Clemson finds itself at an interesting crossroads between the team it is now and what it wants to be going forward. Last week's win over Florida State was a huge step in the right direction. While subsequent wins over Syracuse and Georgia Tech would be a positive continuation, the last thing this team needs is any backslide. That starts and ends with Reynolds. Can he keep it together?
Even if he may be feeling himself a bit, please keep in mind that quarterback is a position built on confidence. It was only recently that he fully committed all his time to playing the position, as he was a two-sport star in high school. More importantly, Reynolds does seem to be self-aware enough to realize that Syracuse's atmosphere might be more intense than what he just experienced last week.
As long as Reynolds continues to take care of the football, Clemson has a shot at winning in Week 10.
