It was only a matter of time before more information came out about Vic Burley's arrest. The veteran Clemson Tigers defensive tackle was arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning for disorderly conduct. He was subsequently suspended by the football team indefinitely by head coach Dabo Swinney. It was the cherry on top for what has been an incredibly regrettable fall camp for Burley.

According to Chapel Fowler of The State, "Clemson DT Vic Burley was arrested for public disorderly conduct after police say they found him asleep in his truck on campus with the engine running around 2:15 a.m. Saturday, smelled marijuana and determined he was impaired." Clemson University Police Department also "found a THC vape and a Glock 19 handgun in Burley's truck."

This was supposed to be Burley's fourth season with the program. The Warner Robins, Ga., native was slated to start at defensive tackle, but things are now a bit up in the air there. His arrest and suspension from the team came after yet another nondescript, injury-plagued training camp for him. While Burley was not driving his truck at the time of his arrest, Swinney clearly was not happy with how this all went down, culminating in his suspension.

Prior to his suspension, Burley had not stepped up to the plate as a potential upperclassman leader along this defensive line. Andy Burburija was on his tail, pressing for more playing time. Now, we have to factor in the multiple prongs of his arrest. We have a Clemson football player falling asleep in his car, allegedly under the influence of drugs, as well as being in possession of a firearm at 2:15 a.m. ET.

While the police did not disclose who the Glock 19 handgun belonged to, it was in the truck when Burley was arrested by the Clemson University Police Department. This may have played a part in why Swinney was so quick to issue a statement and suspend him from the team on Saturday afternoon. We had a feeling more information would come out about Burley's arrest. Now we have it.

Although it remains to be seen what is in store for Burley's fleeting football future, Clemson has a massive Week 1 road date to get ready for. It will be against Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers. According to the FanDuel Sportsbook, Clemson will enter play as a sizable 10.5-point road underdog to LSU.

Right now, the combination of Burley being suspended and Kiffin courting Dae'Quan Wright out of the NFL is two big blows Clemson was not expecting to suffer coming into this high-stakes road game. Regardless, it will be up to Swinney to rally the troops amid challenging circumstances. Even if the defensive line rotation is in utter shambles, Clemson still needs to find a way to win at Tiger Stadium.

With more information coming out, it is easier to see why Swinney decided to move on from Burley.
