Chauncey Wiggins, who Tiger fans watched develop over three seasons in orange and regalia, is getting his shot at the next level after signing an NBA Summer League deal with the Boston Celtics.
The 6-foot-10, 225-pound forward wrapped up his college career at Florida State in 2025-26, but it was his three years at Clemson that put him on the national radar.
During his lone season with the Seminoles, the Georgia native averaged 13.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 0.9 assists across 32 games, making 30 starts. He shot 47.9% from the field and 38.7% from 3-point range.
Wiggins scored a career-high 31 points in an FSU victory over SMU on March 7. In a Feb. 21 return to Clemson, he recorded 7 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal in 28 minutes to help Florida State secure a road win.
Before hitting the transfer portal, Wiggins logged 97 games in a Clemson uniform and played a key part in the Tigers’ memorable 2024 postseason push.
In his junior campaign with Clemson in 2024-25, Wiggins averaged 8.3 points, 2.9 boards and 0.7 assists per game, starting 26 times in 34 outings. He knocked down 43.8 percent of his shots and hit 36.5 percent from deep.
During the 2023-24 campaign, Wiggins played in all 36 games and made 18 starts as Clemson advanced to the Elite Eight. He averaged 17.7 minutes, 5.4 points and 2.1 rebounds per contest. As a freshman in 2022-23, he appeared in 27 games, averaging 2.4 points and 0.9 rebounds in limited playing time.
The Celtics are scheduled to open their Las Vegas Summer League schedule on Friday, July 10, against the Toronto Raptors.
The matchup is set for a 9 p.m. Eastern Time tipoff and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.
