Wednesday afternoon in Tigertown was the kind of day that makes you proud to bleed orange. Not even a full day after Dabo Swinney and Chad Morris landed a top-tier running back, the Tigers stormed right into the backyard of Florida State and pulled off a recruiting heist for the ages.
Jamarin Simmons, a four-star wideout with game-breaking talent, is officially a Clemson Tiger. He picked the orange and white over a who's-who of SEC and ACC heavyweights—Florida, Florida State, Auburn, and Tennessee—proving once again that Clemson is the place to be for elite playmakers.
Known affectionately as "Waffle House" because he is always open, Simmons marks the second massive commitment for the Tigers on Wednesday alone—joining four-star tailback Gary Walker—and the third blue-chip pickup of the week following four-star safety Jarrell Chandler's announcement on Monday.

Earned, Not Given
Simmons' relationship with the Clemson coaching staff runs deep. The 5-foot-11, 165-pound speedster from Amos P. Godby High School in Tallahassee, Florida, was actually the very first wide receiver in the 2027 class to secure a Clemson offer, earning it the old-fashioned way after an absolutely dominant, eye-popping performance at Dabo Swinney's camp last June.
He was back on campus for the Elite Retreat in March, and that’s when the staff put the full-court press on to lock him down. Now, he’s already set to return to the Upstate for Clemson’s can’t-miss official visit weekend at the end of May.
An Absolute Stat-Sheet Scorcher
You don’t have to look hard to see why Chad Morris is grinning from ear to ear. Simmons is a Swiss Army knife on offense, a guy who can torch defenses any way you draw it up.
Last fall, Simmons put up video game numbers—59 catches, 932 yards, and 14 trips to the end zone. He even showed off his arm, going 2-for-2 passing for 120 yards and another score. The kid just makes plays, plain and simple.
The recruiting experts are all in on Simmons’ upside. 247Sports has him as the No. 61 player in America for 2027 and the 10th-best wide receiver in the nation. TigerNet gives him a sparkling 4.55 rating—numbers that back up the hype.
The 2027 Class is Officially on Fire
With Simmons going 'All In' and making it official, Clemson’s 2027 class is heating up at just the right time heading into the summer.
Depending on which service you check, Simmons is either the ninth or tenth Tiger to jump in the boat for 2027. Pair him with fellow four-star Trey Wimbley, and you’ve got a wide receiver duo that’s going to keep ACC defensive coordinators up at night.
Momentum is rolling down the Hill, and the rest of college football better pay attention. The Tigers are cooking up something special for 2027, and you can feel it in the air in Clemson.
