Clemson looks to put last week's disaster at LSU firmly behind it with the Georgia Southern Eagles coming to town in this Week 2 matchup. While there was some hope that Clemson could keep it close with LSU, that quickly fell by the wayside in the 51-10 road blowout. The good news for the Tigers is they have the ideal get-right game coming up versus Georgia Southern in Week 2 on Saturday night.
It will be Clemson's home opener. With one more victory at Death Valley, it would bring Clemson to 100 home-opening wins all time. That would be a huge accomplishment for Dabo Swinney and the entire program. Clemson did not win last year's home opener, conveniently against LSU. Thankfully, the drop-off in talent from LSU to Georgia Southern could not be more obvious coming into this one.
So with that in mind in mind, let's take a look at the latest odds, how to watch, and pick a winner.

Clemson Tigers vs. Georgia Southern Eagles game prediction
For Clemson to reclaim the narrative of its season, a slew of players will need to step up. Perhaps the most important area of focus for this team coming in is being able to stop the run. LSU averaged well over five yards per carry in last week's contest. Being considerably better in run defense should allow Clemson to win time of possession and potentially put this game out of reach during the second half.
As far as the offense is concerned, we need to see both quarterbacks play well, too. Christopher Vizzina has to show that there is a clear and distinct separation between him and Tait Reynolds. Conversely, Reynolds could take Vizzina's starting job by putting forth a better performance than the veteran quarterback. Improved quarterback play is key, but any run defense at all will be paramount.
Georgia Southern will hang around longer than it should before Clemson wins it in the fourth quarter.
