The miracle has happened! Clemson is going to the ACC Championship game
Clemson is going to the ACC Championship!
After losing to Lousisvile, the Tigers' only hope in making the ACC title game was Miami losing two conference games. With Duke, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, and Syracuse left off the schedule, it seemed fairly unlikely to happen. But lo and behold, that's exactly what happened.
Miami dropped its first game of the season to Georgia Tech 28-23. That game alone gave the Tiger faithful hope. But today, the Hurricanes blew a 21-0 lead to Syracuse, losing 41-38.
The miracle happened. Clemson is going to the ACC Championship despite what seemed like insurmountable odds, which also means the Tiger's College Football Playoff hopes are still alive. When the Gamecocks pulled out a win today in Death Valley, it felt like the dream was over. However, if Clemson beats SMU in the title game, the Tigers are the ACC's automatic bid, and they'll be a top-4 seed.
The Mustangs will be a tough test, though. SMU started with a loss to BYU and a near loss to Nevada, but it's done nothing except beat up on ACC competition. The ACC Championship game will be at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC, on December 7, 2024. The game will start at 8:00 PM ET.
