Georgia Tech just gave Clemson's ACC championship hopes a dose of adrenalin
For Clemson to have a chance to play in the ACC title game, either SMU or Miami had to lose at least two of their last three games. Now, Clemson is halfway there with the Hurricanes.
Georgia Tech held the highest-scoring offense in the conference to just 23 points in its 28-23 win over the No. 4 team in the country. Miami has played from behind and won at least two games this season, but they weren't as lucky this time.
With over a minute left to go in the game and two timeouts, the Hurricane's star quarterback, Cam Ward, fumbled within Miami's 20-yard line. The Yellow Jackets then gained a first down, effectively ending the game.
It's still going to take a small miracle for the Tigers to make the ACC championship. Miami has Wake Forest and Syracuse left, while SMU has Boston College, Virginia, and California. It's not likely that either team will lose any of those games. However, now, Clemson at least has hope.
