Clemson Tigers News: Women’s Soccer advances to Sweet Sixteen

Clemson Women’s Soccer 2, Columbia 1 – The Tigers win at Historic Riggs Field against the Lions to advance to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament.
Megan Bornkamp got the Tigers on the board in the 29th minute on an assist by Renee Lyles. Lyles then doubled Clemson’s tally with a goal five minutes later with assists from Bornkamp and Emily Brough.
Head coach Eddie Radwanski praised his team’s effort.
"“This the NCAA Tournament, we are not playing weak teams, these are good teams so credit to Columbia for resiliency. We had the lead and we kept our composure.”"
The Tigers will now play the Georgia Bulldogs on Sunday at Historic Riggs Field with an opportunity to advance to the quarterfinals.
Clemson Volleyball loses 0-3 to NC State (20-25, 21-25, 20-25): The Tigers lost in three sets to the Wolfpack on the road.
Adria Powell led Clemson with 12.5 points. Kate Simington and Mia MgGrath each had three blocks.
Next up is Duke on Sunday in Durham.
