No. 3. Clemson at Notre Dame

It was very close between this game and the game I selected at #2. I think Clemson at Notre Dame may be the best game of the Tigers’ entire season. I think both teams could be ranked in the Top 10 by the time this game rolls around in Week 10. That means it would be very relevant to the College Football Playoff picture. If both teams are 8-0, then maybe I am wrong and ESPN won’t be able to escape the lure of Touchdown Jesus. I acknowledge it is very possible Gameday could be in South Bend this weekend. I think it is the 2nd most likely destination.

Most likely: Tennessee at Georgia

Again, please don’t hate me for acknowledging the draw of the Southeastern Conference for ESPN producers, but it is a reality that the Vols visiting the Bulldogs could be deciding the SEC East. I doubt Tennessee will be undefeated because they must play Alabama, but assuming they win the balance of their games to this point (which is very real possibility, if not an outright likelihood), this will become a de facto SEC semifinal game.

Alabama at LSU is a dark horse if the Bayou Bengals do survive Tennessee and Ole Miss and manage to be undefeated.
