Louisville finished last season in disappointing fashion being blown out by Kentucky and losing to Air Force in the First Responders Bowl.

Still they showed flashes and for the most part beat the teams they should have, which is an underrated attribute in today’s game.

Louisville returns the 14th most production in the NCAA, the sixth most on offense and 49th most on defense, so it’s reasonable to think they’ll be improved.

The problem for the Cardinals is that this game is they’re not quite there yet and this game is in Death Valley, where Louisville has lost close and big, but they’ve lost. Period.

Despite the talent that is Malik Cunningham and others surrounding him on offense, I don’t see that changing this season.
