After the Syracuse game and 8 straight weeks of games, Clemson finally has a week off before traveling to Indiana to play the Fighting Irish.

I’m not sure what to make of the Irish at this point, but they were solid last season and came within a Cincinnati loss of going undefeated and returning to the playoff.

On the flip side, Florida State took the Irish to OT, they had to rally to beat Toledo and blew a huge  lead to Oklahoma State in the bowl game.

It’s ironic that Dabo, with 13 years of head coaching experience, two national championships and 150 wins is being questioned more than Marcus Freeman, he of 0 wins.

No slight to Freeman.  He appears to be a top notch recruiter and perhaps a fine head coach, but Clemson fans understand the growing pains that happen when moving from assistant to the head guy more than most.  Things happen, often at critical times.

Still, this game is in November in Indiana and weather could be a factor and the crowd certainly will.

Talk to me in November as I may have a different take, but with so many unknowns, Notre Dame’s talent level and Clemson’s offensive struggles, I give the Irish the edge.
