Clemson football has seen a wave of commitments over the last several days, but more names remain in play.

With three verbal commitments since Monday and four since May 20th, it’s clear that the Clemson Tigers are on a roll in the recruiting business.

It’s a far cry from the quiet months on the front since the end of the season, that saw a huge, but lone, commit in the name of newly minted five star quarterback Chris Vizzina.

When it seemed like every other team was getting commitments from every other blue chipper all was quiet at Clemson and the buzzards were circling, both nationally and locally, media and fans.

There were a few voices encouraging calm, noting that Clemson moves slower than most, one of them being Jason Priester of AllClemson.com.

Whether by text or on the Sluggo Podcast, he preached calm and patience, believing Clemson would reap the benefits of the first weekend of June at some point and he was right.

But there’s plenty more out there for the Tigers to get and Priester does a great job of summarizing what remains on the table for Clemson.

"2023 OL target Zecharia Owens, who was one of more than 30 players to take official visits over the weekend has set a commitment date of July 4. Owens originally had plans on taking an official visit to Penn State later this month, but do not expect that visit to happen. Take that how you will, but it’s easy to read between the lines."

In the short term Priester points to the big, literally and figuratively, offensive line target from Georgia and its potentially great news for a team that has struggled within that position group in addition to the Ian Reed commitment from June 7.

Are the Tigers just getting started in their 2023 recruiting haul?

Priester also provides his take on AJ Hoffler, Vic Burley and some other recruits in his latest piece.

You always take things with a grain of salt, especially those on social media, as we know how quickly tweets are fired off.

That said, it’s difficult not to be excited as a Clemson fan when the Senior Director of Recruiting is  doing the tweeting.
