Reaping the benefit of a stellar camp performance a Clemson commitment got a ratings boost.
Clemson football quarterback commitment Chris Vizzina was rewarded with a fifth star on Tuesday, signifying his continued ascent among the class of 2023 signal callers.
Chris Vizzina’s consistency, timing and accuracy led to fifth star
Vizzina impressed at the The QB Retreat in late May, with his consistency, timing and accuracy all winning rave reviews and 247sports national analyst Greg Biggins came away impressed.
"Picking a top performer among the 2023s, it would have to be Vizzina. We mentioned him as a stock up guy heading in to the camp and he was very good all day long.At 6-foot-4, 205 pounds, Vizzina has a solid frame, a live arm, effortless release and was very accurate, throwing with really good timing and anticipation. He looked comfortable throwing in the pocket or rolling out left or right and his upside looks very high. He’s currently rated the No. 53 player nationally in the Top247 after jumping up from No. 96 in March and you can make a solid argument he should continue climbing up."
While 247 has him ranked 53rd, their composite ranking lists him at 33rd and the 5th ranked quarterback in the country.
Tom Loy, also of 247sports had this to say about Vizzina:
"“He was so consistent,” Loy said. “It was pretty windy out here at times, and he was just carving through the wind. Throwing off different platforms and angles. He was just ripping it. If you’re a Clemson fan, you have to be fired up about his future. He’s going to enroll early. He’s recruiting extremely hard. He’s got some names we spoke about off-record that he feels good about the Tigers landing.”"
With D.J. Uiagalelei in his third season, Cade Klubnik in his true freshman season and now Vizzina committing the Tigers are on their way back to having a solid quarterback room after being shockingly thin at the position post Trevor Lawrence.
