Seth Beer has been fortunate early in his career as the baseball Gods have apparently taking a liking to him.  Few people enjoy being traded, but for Beer it has proved his only viable path to the Major Leagues after being drafted by the Houston Astros.  He wasn’t going to beat out Yordan Alvarez to be the DH, Kyle Tucker in right field or even Yuli Gurriel (2021 AL Batting Champ) at first.  There simply was no path for him in Houston.

The trade to the Diamondbacks looked odd at first, a player without a position going to a National League team.  Then fate intervened once again as MLB went to a universal DH and Beer has been given an opportunity to platoon in 2022.

Beer hit a home run in his first MLB at bat and a walk off home run in the first game of 2022.

For a while Beer was the only Diamondback starter hitting over .200 and was batting over .300 early in the season.

More recently Beer has regressed towards the mean and is now slashing .250/.357/.350 with a home run and eight RBI.
