Clemson QB DJ Uiagalelei was one of the first collegiate athletes to sign with an agent– Vayner Sports– and that has already netted him huge opportunities as a result.

Since the inception of collegiate athletes being able to profit off their name, image and likeness, we’ve seen a ton of major deals come across the way.

Uiagalelei, who is set to take over as the new starting quarterback for the Clemson football program, is among the leaders.

He inked an endorsement deal with Bojangles just a few weeks ago and also with an NFT company.

Now, he has announced a deal that with Dr. Pepper that will see him make an appearance in the company’s ‘Fansville’ national television commercial.

Three things we know about the DJ Uiagalelei Dr. Pepper ‘Fansville’ commercial

1. This commercial will make DJ Uiagalelei the ‘face’ of College Football

While the exact numbers of the agreement haven’t been released, the one thing we can say about this is that it’s a huge deal for Uiagalelei.

"“Every time I turn on the TV every Saturday, I always see a commercial with Dr Pepper,” Uiagalelei said in an interview with Sports Illustrated earlier this week. “When they reached out to me, it was a no-brainer.”"

People have grown fond of those Dr. Pepper ‘Fansville’ commercials over the course of the past few years and, honestly, they’re the most popular College Football-related commercials out there currently.

Now, Uiagalelei is going to be the star in a commercial that is seen by the eyes of millions week-in and week-out. That’s going to make him, in many ways, the new face of College Football and it won’t be long before he’s a household name.

That, in turn, spells good things for Clemson football.

When you have your starting quarterback being seen all the time on television, it can’t hurt recruiting. The power of the Clemson brand– even though ‘Clemson’ isn’t directly involved– is going to grow through that commercial and it’s another selling point for those recruits who are looking for NIL opportunities and wondering what Clemson can provide for them.
