Clemson football: Two major 2022 targets set to announce decisions on the same day
The Clemson football 2022 recruiting class is starting to shape up and the Tigers have their eyes set on a couple of major targets who are getting ready to announce.
We told you earlier that 4-star CB target Daylen Everette was set to announce his decision at 5 p.m. on Saturday. Now, another defensive back target will be announcing his decison.
Everette’s IMG Academy teammate, 5-star ATH Keon Sabb, will announce his decision at 4 p.m. on Saturday. Clemson is recruiting him as a safety.
The Clemson football coaching staff feels good about its chances with Sabb
While everything is subject to change, we can tell you that Clemson feels fairly confident about its chances with both Everette and Sabb.
Sabb made a visit to Clemson earlier this summer and the Tigers have seemingly been the leader since that point. That being said, he has kept his recruitment close to the vest and there are others- Georgia and Texas A&M- who are still recruiting hard and hoping to turn him away from the Tigers.
Everette is a battle between Clemson and North Carolina with Georgia trailing third. The Tigers and Tar Heels both like where they’re positioned and it’s too close to call right now in terms of what he’ll do.
When talking about Sabb, he is rated as the No. 2 ATH in the nation and the No. 22 overall player in the country by 247 Sports’ composite player rankings. 247 Sports’ national analyst Steve Wiltfong put in the lone crystal ball prediction for Sabb in favor of Clemson, but he listed his confidence as ‘low.’
There’s no doubt that Clemson football fans should be following both of these recruitments closely over the next couple of days heading into Saturday afternoon when they announce their commitments.
Currently, the Tigers have eight commitments and possess the No. 32 overall class in the nation, according to the 247 Sports’ composite team rankings.
