2. What if Kirby Smart actually gets out of his own way?

Anyone who knows anything about talent evaluation knows that there is plenty of talent in Athens.

Georgia has secured commitments from 5-star after 5-star, but in the grand scheme of things it simply hasn’t mattered. The Bulldogs can’t seem to get out of their own way.

Every year- especially recently- Georgia possesses one of the most talented teams in the SEC and nation, for that matter, and they simply can’t get over the hump. That’s why they haven’t won a National Championship since 1980.

The question has never been talent at Georgia. It’s coaching. It’s development. More than anything, it’s culture.

If Kirby Smart finds a way to activate his talented stable of wide receivers- even with an injury and a transfer- and he revamps his offense to the modern style, we could be talking about an extremely dangerous team that measures up to what we saw out of 2019 LSU just a couple of years ago.

Smart has the offensive and defensive talent to make a run at a National Title and the Bulldogs can absolutely compete with Clemson. But will he get out of his own way?

History tells us that he won’t, but it at least has to be on the radar of Clemson football fans heading into this one.
