The Clemson football program dished out its first batch of scholarship offers for the 2023 recruiting cycle to begin the month of June.

In the Dabo Swinney era, Clemson football has traditionally waited until June 1st to give out offers for the next recruiting cycle- with the exception of just a few prospects- and what we’ve seen through the first couple of days of the month is the Tigers continue to build on relationships with prospects they’ve already been heavily targeting.

Clemson has given out 18 offers in the class of 2023 so far. Here’s a look at those names and where they rank currently (according to the 247 Sports’ Composite Player Rankings):

  • 5-star CB Tony Mitchell (No. 1 CB in the nation, No. 2 player from Alabama)
  • 4-star CB Avieon Terrell (No. 7 CB in nation, No. 8 from Georgia)
  • 5-star S Sonny Styles (No. 1 S in nation, No. 1 from Ohio)
  • 4-star S Rahmir Stewart (No. 4 S in nation, No. 2 from Pennsylvania)
  • 4-star ATH Joenel Aguero (No. 5 ATH in nation, No. 8 from Florida)
  • 5-star LB Drayk Brown (No. 1 LB in nation, No. 1 from Indiana)
  • 4-star LB Tackett Curtis (No. 5 LB in nation, No. 5 from Louisiana)
  • 4-star LB Josiah Trotter (No. 11 in nation, No. 5 from Pennsylvania)
  • LB Raylen Wilson (N/R, from Tallahassee, FLA)
  • 5-star DE Anthony Hill (No. 1 DE in nation, No. 1 from Texas)
  • 5-star DE Malik Bryant (No. 2 DE in nation, No. 4 from Florida)
  • 4-star DE/TE Matayo Uiagalelei (No. 47 overall nationally, No. 3 from California)
  • 5-star DL Lebbeus Overton (No. 1 nationally, No. 1 from Georgia)
  • 5-star DL Peter Woods (No. 2 DT in nation, No. 1 from Alabama)
  • 5-star DL Vic Burley (No. 7 DL in nation, No. 2 from Georgia)
  • 5-star DL David Hicks (No. 8 DL in nation, No. 3 from Texas)
  • 4-star DL Kelby Collins (No. 10 DL in nation, No. 6 from Alabama)
  • DL Damon Wilson (N/R from Venice, FLA)

Clemson football fans can expect this list to grow over the coming days and weeks

At this point, the Tigers have only given out offers to their top defensive prospects and we can expect that they’ll be a little more careful about offensive offers in this class.

Two offers that will be coming really soon are to 5-star QB Arch Manning and 5-star QB Malachi Nelson. Clemson needs an elite quarterback in this class and these two guys are expected to be the first to garner offers and attention.

When you look at the list of offers so far, you can see the positions that will be heavily targeted in this class.

Clemson football will be going heavily after players in the front-seven. The Tigers will likely take multiple defensive tackles, defensive ends and linebackers in that 2023 class before it’s all said and done.
