Clemson football: 2021 NFL Draft tracker with instant grades & reactions
The Clemson football program has been consistently putting top-tier talent in the NFL for quite some time under the leadership of Dabo Swinney and there are several more Tigers who are ready to begin their professional career.
Welcome to our 2021 NFL Draft Tracker
Clemson football fans will have their eyes on the 2021 NFL Draft when it kicks off Thursday evening as they look for five Tigers to be selected over the course of the three-day event.
At this point, here is our expectation for each draftee:
Trevor Lawrence is going to be the No. 1 overall pick in the draft and he’s going to be selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars. There’s almost no chance of anything else happening.
Travis Etienne has been considered as high as a solid Round 1 pick or as low as a fringe second-rounder. There are many that believe he could end up with the Buffalo Bills and there’s a decent chance he goes in the first-round before it’s all said and done.
Amari Rodgers is one of the most intriguing wide receivers in the NFL Draft. He’s going to be gone before the end of Round 3 and could even be a fringe prospect to end being selected in Round 2.
Jackson Carman is considered a top-10 offensive tackle by most NFL insiders and he has drawn much interest across the league as a Day 2 prospect. He’ll likely end up in the third-round and his floor seems to be the early portion of Round 4.
Cornell Powell wouldn’t have been drafted had it not been for his big-time 2020 season. Now, he’s considered as high as an early Round 4 prospect. Whether it’s Round 4, Round 5 or the early portion of Round 6, Powell will hear his name called but Tiger fans will have to wait until Saturday for that to come to fruition.

- Trevor Lawrence selected by Jacksonville Jaguars (No. 1 overall pick)
This one should come as no surprise. Lawrence has been the No. 1 overall pick since his high school days and there’s no doubt that he’s going to be a franchise-changer for the Jaguars.
Grade: A+
- Travis Etienne selected by Jacksonville Jaguars (No. 25)
This was a possibility we touched on earlier in the spring and the Jaguars were able to pull it off. Najee Harris was the first running back taken at No. 24 by the Steelers, but Jacksonville got a big-time play-maker with Etienne.
Oh, and they’re pairing him in the backfield with his former teammate Trevor Lawrence in the backfield.
We absolutely love this fit.
Grade: A+
- Jackson Carman selected by Cincinnati Bengals (2nd round, No. 46 overall)
Anyone following the draft knew that Jackson Carman might go earlier than many expected, but I don’t think there were many who really thought he would go inside the top-50.
Carman is going to be an excellent pickup for the Bengals and it’s in his home state. Seems like a great fit and he’ll have an opportunity to grow.
Grade: B
- Amari Rodgers selected by the Green Bay Packers (3rd round, No. 85 overall)
Amari Rodgers had to wait a little longer than we would’ve liked, but the end result was a good one. The Packers- if they can get this worked out with Aaron Rodgers- are a legitimate contender in the NFC. That’s really the only downside at this point is the uncertainty.
Grade: B
- Cornell Powell selected by the Kansas City Chiefs (5th round, No. 181 overall)
Cornell Powell had to wait, but he ended up in an excellent situation where he will be able to learn under some of the best offensive developers in the league and he will have a chance to earn a spot in the 53-man roster if he can just beat out a couple of receivers.
Grade: A-
