Clemson football dropping subtle hints at full capacity for 2021 season
The 2021 Clemson football season is still six months away and a lot can happen in that timeframe.
That being said, there is growing optimism that we might get back to some sense of normalcy this fall in terms of crowd attendance and that is making fans dream of the days in which we might pack stadiums again.
The 2020 Clemson football season is one we won’t forget anytime soon. The Tigers were still able to welcome around 19,000 fans into Death Valley for each home game, but that was a massive decline from the normal 80,000+ who are in the stadium on a weekly basis during a normal season.
The NFL is reportedly working its salary cap under the assumption that there is at least 75 percent capacity crowd attendance for its games this fall and Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne just posted on Twitter earlier this week that the Crimson Tide are moving forward with the plan to have a full capacity stadium this fall.
Following Byrne’s comments, we got a couple of interesting- but coded- messages from Clemson football
On March 2nd, the official Clemson football twitter account posted this gif with no message or words.
A couple of days later, the Clemson University Twitter account posted this video which featured the streets of Clemson packed as fans and students watched the Tigers during the National Title victory a few years ago:
Are these subtle hints about the plan moving forward this fall?
Clemson hasn’t said anything officially about the plan for the fall when it comes to Death Valley attendance or class attendance, for that matter. But, it does seem the Tigers are moving forward with at least a plan of getting back to normal real soon.
There are a lot of factors that can play into this between now and the fall- and we’re certainly not qualified to talk about any of them- but it is interesting what hints might be being dropped on social media by Clemson officials here in the midst of the spring looking ahead to September.
