NCAA Transfer Portal

Dabo Swinney has said that Clemson football will be open to transfers in the future, but that doesn’t mean the Tigers are going to be actively pursuing transfers year-in and year-out.

He reiterated that his transfer policy is still the same for the time being, but that the Tigers are willing to change with the landscape and that means they won’t close the door by any means.

There are a few talented cornerbacks still in the NCAA Transfer Portal- like a Brendan Radley-Hiles, Nigel Knott or Colin Samuel- but it’s unclear how those guys (or others) would fit in the culture of Clemson. After all, several of them have already transferred more than once.

What may be intriguing, however, is when the new wave of transfers hit the market in April and May. Following spring practice, we could see an influx of guys making their way out of their respective programs and who knows who that might entail.

If the player is right, maybe we see the Tigers go the ‘transfer route’ for the first time in Swinney’s tenure since the inception of the portal.
