2. An NFL gig

It’s not completely out of the question that Elliott just bides his time in the Clemson football program until an NFL job opens up that he finds suitable.

While it seems rather unlikely that an NFL franchise would take a chance on a collegiate coordinator with no head coaching experience, it’s not completely out of the question. After all,   Elliott’s name was floated out for the vacant Dallas Cowboys’ head coaching gig last year and there are numerous NFL franchises who have taken notice of his analytical mind.

That being said, it’s much more likely that he would receive interest from NFL franchises as an Offensive Coordinator. Who’s to say the Cowboys, Patriots, Steelers or Packers don’t come calling at some point?

Elliott could use that leverage- perhaps coaching for just a year or two as an NFL assistant- and end up as a newly-named Head Coach of an NFL franchise.
