Trevor Lawrence is the only worthy first-round NFL quarterback in 2021.

As we draw closer to the end of the college football season, there will be a lot of talk about Trevor Lawrence and the other quarterbacks available for the 2021 NFL draft. As we listen to experts give their analysis of where players should go and who should be taken high – make no mistake about it, the only quarterback in college football that is worthy of the first round is Trevor.

We have heard a lot of names this year – Trey Lance, Brock Purdy, Zach Wilson, and of course Justin Fields – all guys that are expected to go in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft. Quite honestly, all guys that have bust written all over them, especially Justin Fields.

Trevor and Justin have been linked together since they were in high school. They grew up just 25 minutes apart northwest of Atlanta, graduated the same year, were both highly ranked coming out of high school, and even have the same quarterback coach.

Their lives have essentially paralleled each other for most of the last five years. Although only one has won a national title and played for another.

However, Justin Fields playing at UGA under Kirby Smart and then at Ohio State under Ryan Day leaves a lot to be desired. Yes, he has put up incredible numbers as a starter but so did Tim Tebow.

Let’s remember the quarterbacks that have played for Ryan Day at Ohio StateJ.T. Barrett, Dwayne Haskins, and Justin Fields. No, he does not get credit for Joe Burrow since he chose both Barrett and Haskins over Burrow.

Barrett never had an NFL career and Haskins got beat out by a 36-year-old Alex Smith, who just a year ago couldn’t walk and has had 17 surgeries on his left leg in the past 24 months.

While I am not saying that Fields will be anything like his predecessors, people are giving him a bump because of Ryan Day when in reality, it should be held against him.

Trevor Lawrence is going to be a franchise-changing NFL quarterback.

People are hoping that Trevor will come back to college to avoid the New York Jets and the dumpster fire currently in place, however, Trevor is exactly the type of player that they need in New York – a true leader that can transform the locker room and lead a group of men onto the field each and every week.

While he has had a good 18 game run in college, Justin Fields has bust written all over him at the next level. While Trevor will transform an NFL franchise, Fields is going to get the NFL general manager and the head coach that drafts him eventually fired for not being able to properly evaluate talent.

There is one clear quarterback choice for the first round of the 2021 NFL draft and he currently resides in Clemson, South Carolina.

If Deshaun Watson was Michael Jordan, Trevor Lawrence has no equivalent, especially in the NFL draft.
