Clemson Football: Stadium Capacity set for ACC Championship game
Stadium capacity is set for ACC Championship game and a limited number of Clemson football fans will be in attendance
The Clemson football team is set to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the ACC Championship game next Saturday, Dec. 19 in Charlotte.
The Tigers and Fighting Irish squared off earlier this year in South Bend, Indiana, and Notre Dame came away with a win in double-overtime. Now, Clemson will look to right that wrong and gain revenge in the best way possible.
It’s Notre Dame’s first time ever playing in a conference title game and it may very well be its last for quite some time, as well. Clemson football, on the other hand, has won five-straight and needs to win this one to clinch a spot in the CFB Playoff.
While this will certainly be an exciting game on-the-field, we did receive some news today that should be encouraging off-the-field. There was talk about the game being played without fans in attendance, but that won’t be the case.
Though it will be a limited capacity crowd, there will be *some* fans in attendance. Stadium’s Brett McMurphy reported that capacity set for the ACC Championship game will be 5,240.
Clemson football fans will be in Charlotte for yet another year
Officially, 7-percent capacity in Bank of America Stadium is right around 5,278 people, so that’s about what the ACC is shooting for in terms of attendance.
With thousands of Clemson football and Notre Dame fans looking to attend the game, the expectation is that these tickets will be bought up quickly from the schools and then sold on the secondary market for outrageous prices.
It will be interesting to see what the atmosphere feels like when the game is played, but we should expect a solid 50/50 split (or something close to it) between the two fan bases- as Notre Dame fans love to travel- and we will see plenty of orange and navy sprinkled throughout the stadium.
Clemson and Notre Dame are set to do battle at 4 p.m. E.T. in Bank of America Stadium next Saturday.
