Clemson football fans are going to pay a pretty penny to watch  the Tigers in-person in Charlotte

Though official ticket information hasn’t been released, it’s clear that Clemson football fans will have to pay a pretty penny for secondary-market tickets to the ACC Championship game.

The Tigers clinched a spot in the ACC Championship with a win over the Virginia Tech Hokies this past weekend and that has set up a rematch with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in Bank of America Stadium a couple of weeks from now on Saturday, Dec. 19.

The Clemson football team lost a road game to the Irish earlier in the season, but none of that matters as we head into the conference title because the winner of this game will lock up a berth in the CFB Playoff. Notre Dame could actually get into the CFB Playoff even with a loss.

As we prepare for the upcoming matchup, official ticket information has yet to be released. That being said, it hasn’t stopped some folks for trying to ‘up-charge’ their ticket prices by a fortune.

Two users on StubHub are currently selling tickets in the end zone of Bank of America Stadium for a number that will astound even the richest of Clemson football fans. In the middle end zone, the user is selling two tickets for $9,600 a piece. In the lower end zone, a user is selling two tickets for $17,184 a piece.

Clemson football fans will likely be in attendance, but it’s highly doubtful many will pay that astronomical price

I know there are some in the Clemson family who can afford to pay nearly $35,000 for two tickets to the game, but I don’t think the willingness is going to be there- assuming these are even real. But who knows? I’ve been wrong plenty of times before (LOL).

As far as actual ticket information, the ACC hasn’t released anything official.

The state of North Carolina is currently limiting attendance to 7 percent for sporting venues and that would put the number of spectators in Bank of America Stadium (capacity of 75,412) at 5,278.

That being said, the Carolina Panthers got permission to extend their attendance slightly by using the 500 section (upper deck) in compliance with physical distancing guidelines and that allowed them to have 5,815 in attendance for the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a few weeks ago.

However, it’s unclear if the ACC could be granted a similar exception to the rule or if the conference will even ask for one.

If the conference does elect to have fans present- and that hasn’t been decided publicly as of yet- thousands of Clemson and Notre Dame fans will want to be in attendance for this one and that’s going to lead to some astronomical prices being listed on secondary markets with limited availability and high demand once tickets are released to the schools.
