Trevor Lawrence will go down as an all-time college football legend.

The last 48 hours has solidified Trevor Lawrence as a college football legend and none has anything to do with what he accomplished on the field.

That alone should tell you how remarkable this young man is. His legacy will have nothing to do with wins and losses and for a kid that is 24-1 as a starter with two ACC titles, three college football playoff wins, two national title game appearances, and one national title, speaks volumes.

The news late Friday night was that conference leaders were getting together to discuss canceling college football this fall. Whether it was because of COVID related safety issues or because men in their 60s were rattled by conference athletes banding together will never actually be known.

Trevor Lawrence single-handedly got the hashtag #WeWantToPlay trending on twitter Sunday afternoon into the evening and then hundreds of his fellow college football players from around the country started chiming in.

Not only did players support this movement but so did the parents of these players. He even caught the attention of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis who applauded what Lawrence was doing.

It is truly remarkable what someone as groundbreaking and unprecedented as Lawrence has been on the field uses his platform to help others who aren’t in the same position that he is. If his college season is canceled today, by tomorrow Trevor Lawrence would have more than $100 million in endorsement deals changing his family’s life instantly.

Instead, he trying to inform and persuade the adults in charge to let the players that have sacrificed everything they have to play a game that they love while simultaneously changing the industry standard for those in the future.
