Clemson football fans are waiting for the ACC to make decisions. The Pac-12 is moving forward with its season.

Clemson football fans, along with the rest of the country, are anxiously waiting to hear the determined fate of the 2020 season.

At the time of this writing, the ACC, Big 12 and SEC have not made formal announcements as to what their season will look like, but we have heard from the Big Ten and Pac-12, at least in a small dosage.

The ACC, Big 12 and SEC are reportedly working to find a way to play non-conference games with one another while the Pac-12 and Big Ten have already announced that they will only play conference games.

The Pac-12 made another major announcement earlier this week.

The conference plans to start its season on September 19- two weeks later than previously scheduled- and play a 10-game season, all against in-conference foes. The Pac-12 Championship will be held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on December 4, as previously scheduled.

The new plan, though it pushes the start of the season back slightly, still allows the conference some flexibility if games need to be postponed or canceled before ultimately playing the conference title game.

What Clemson football fans can learn from the Pac-12 scheduling announcement

One of the first things that should be most prevalent here is the fact that the Pac-12 is still planning to play football and is only delaying the start of its season by a couple of weeks.

The Pac-12 had been dubbed the conference most likely to cancel its season or to move to the spring, and it seems instead that they may be the first Power-5 conference to announce their intentions and plans to play this fall.

That’s good news for Clemson football fans hoping to see the Tigers play in Death Valley this autumn.

While many expect the season to be delayed- and it very well might- the overarching takeaway from this announcement is that the Power-5 conferences are planning to play football this fall. Does that mean it will happen? No. But things certainly seem a bit more positive and trending in a better direction this week than last.

There are still a lot of unknowns- especially at this point when the ACC has announced nothing- and it may be a while before we know the fate of the Clemson football season, but this at least seems like good news on the surface as we progress towards the fall.
