What should Trevor Lawrence do if season is postponed?

There are many College Football players across the country who are searching for answers and anxiously awaiting to hear about the fate of the 2020 season. Trevor Lawrence is one of them.

Trevor Lawrence, who enters his junior campaign as the projected No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, is going to have a major decision on his hands, especially if things continue to trend the way they are currently.

When Clemson football fans continue to hope for games to be played in the fall- and that’s certainly the plan from the Power 5 currently- it’s looking more and more likely that games will at the very least be postponed a few weeks.

Many analysts have speculated that the season may not start until October or November and will be played in a ‘split fashion’ with the first half being played in the fall and the second half in the spring. Others say the spring is the only viable option. Many still hold out hope for a September start date as originally planned, but nothing is for certain currently.

If things get postponed at all, though, Trevor Lawrence is going to have an interesting decision to make: Does he risk injury or playing a shortened season and hurting his draft status or does he choose to sit out?

Tiger fans will be waiting on Trevor Lawrence to make a decision

Knowing what we know about Trevor Lawrence, it doesn’t seem all that likely that he would sit out or choose to forego his junior season if it’s played in the fall.

Lawrence has continuously reiterated how much he loves the Clemson football program and his teammates. He is a leader both on and off the field and it’s clear that he wants to play a final year with the Tigers.

That being said, if we start to see the season be delayed and, in particularly moved to the spring, that may be enough to force Lawrence’s hand into going ahead and declaring for the NFL Draft.

After all, you couldn’t blame him if he did choose to go ahead and move away from the weirdness that will be College Football this upcoming season.

The hope is that Lawrence will be able to play this fall, but it wouldn’t be likely that we would see him or a number of draft-eligible prospects play a spring season with the NFL Draft on the horizon.

What should Lawrence do? Well, we’ll leave that up to him.

Next. Culture has nothing to do with decommitments. dark

He obviously wants to play, but we would be remiss if we didn’t mention those millions of dollars that are waiting on him less than a year from now.
