Clemson Football: 4-star LB target set to make announcement
4-star Clemson football target Barrett Carter is set to make his announcement this evening. Here’s a look at the latest in his recruitment.
The 2021 Clemson football recruiting class is currently ranked inside the top-five in the nation and there’s nothing standing in the way of the Tigers continuing to remain atop the rest of the College Football world.
One of the targets for the 2021 cycle for Clemson football is 4-star LB Barrett Carter.
Carter, a native of Suwanee, GA, is set to make his commitment announcement tonight at 6:50 p.m., on his mother’s birthday. His decision will be broadcasted live on Fox5 News in Atlanta, according to a report from Tigernet.
Carter, a 6-foot-1, 220 pound linebacker, is ranked as the No. 4 OLB in the nation and the No. 6 overall player in the state of Georgia.
At this point, it would seem that the Clemson football program is a favorite to win his services. The Tigers currently own 100 percent of the nine crystal ball predictions from the 247 Sports’ recruiting analysts.
Earlier in his recruitment, Carter was considered a lean to Georgia. He was also showing interest in both Auburn and Ohio State.
All that being said, this seems like a Clemson and Georgia battle. Though Auburn has been involved, I would be surprised to see him go anywhere other than Clemson or Athens.
The Tigers have been able to consistently go into the state of Georgia over the past half-decade of recruiting and pick up quality commitments. Carter would make the fourth commitment from the state of Georgia for Clemson and he would join his fellow teammate 4-star DB Jordan Hancock, if he chooses to commit.
