Greatest Clemson football players of Danny Ford era: 9. Rodney Williams/Homer Jordan
We’ve got one tie on our list and it goes to the two most successful quarterbacks of the Danny Ford.
Rodney Williams clearly had more success at the position during his time with the program, but Homer Jordan was an instrumental leader in taking the Tigers to the National Championship. Jordan’s leadership has always scored him a high honor with Tiger fans.
Williams was no stranger to winning either, though.
After serving out those punishments, Williams took over as the starter at quarterback during the 1985 season. He would go on to be a four-year starter, leading the Tigers to three ACC Championships and earned MVP Honors in both the 1986 Gator Bowl (a win over Stanford) and the 1988 Citrus Bowl (a win over Penn State).
