Clemson Football: Absence makes the heart grow fonder
Though Clemson football fans will have to wait quite a while to see the Tigers again, absence will only make the heart grow fonder.
Clemson football fans will have to wait more than five months to see the Tigers in action again.
As the 2020 Clemson football spring camp came to an end early, Tiger fans were left without even getting a taste of what the 2020 season will look like as the annual Orange & White spring game was canceled.
That marks a long time between now and the start of fall camp (late-July, early-August). And an even longer time between now and the start of the 2020 Clemson football season (September 3). And an even longer time between now and the first home game of the year (September 12).
Oh, and to make matters even more excruciating: The last time fans saw Clemson on a football field, the Tigers’ 29-game winning streak came to an end with a loss to LSU in the National Championship.
With the longest season in Clemson history being played in 2019- with an earlier start date and later end date than ever before– it seemed that the offseason would go by in a flash. Now that spring practice is canceled, though, Tiger fans will be forced to wait through a grueling calendar of months before things start to pick up again.
Though Clemson football fans will have to wait quite a while before they get to see their Tigers again, it will all be worth it once it’s all said and done.
Why? Well, because absence makes the heart grow fonder.
Perhaps this hiatus is exactly what the fanbase needed. Many Clemson fans- mostly bandwagoners- had begun to take the winning for granted. I can guarantee you that won’t be the case when football season does return.
Instead, we’ll be looking at a situation where Clemson football fans want to make the most of every single Saturday and cherish College Football more so than we ever have before.
