Clemson Football: 5 question marks heading into 2020 offseason

4. Replacing Isaiah Simmons

You’re never going to replace Isaiah Simmons.

His versatility, freakish athleticism and physicality are things that are just unmatched. That’s the exact reason why he is projected to be a top-10 pick in this coming year’s NFL Draft.

However, Clemson still has to find a way to address the position and find that versatile option to keep its defensive unit rolling at a high level.

Mike Jones Jr. will get the first shot at the Nickel/SAM spot this spring, but I’d expect Brent Venables to try several different linebackers and safeties at the position as a way to find the possible option for the Tigers.
