Week 7 of the College Football season features several top matchups. Here’s a look at our picks against the spread for some of the most prominent games.
We’re now officially at the midseason point of the 2019 College Football season.
Many programs around the nation are in the thick of their conference schedules and are looking to have resume-building victories to impress the College Football Playoff Committee or to get themselves back in the conversation.
Here’s a look at our picks against the spread for College Football Week 7.
Oklahoma at Texas
Current Spread: Texas +10.5
Spread Prediction:
Oklahoma’s offense has looked absolutely unstoppable to this point. Texas lost a game to LSU and hasn’t looked all that impressive as of late. Neither team has any defense and I believe this will be a game where Sam Ehlinger and Jalen Hurts battle. Texas is at home, so I’ll take the Longhorns to cover the points.
South Carolina at Georgia
Current Spread: Georgia -24
Spread Prediction:
Georgia is a 24-point favorite at home against South Carolina. This is a game where the Bulldogs either show up and take care of business, or they lose focus and come close to an upset. Georgia hasn’t looked too impressive the past two weeks and South Carolina is desperate for a win.
Give me the Gamecocks to cover the 24-point spread, but I highly doubt they win the game. It’s another moral victory for the Gamecock faithful, though.
Florida at LSU
Current Spread: LSU -13.5
Spread Prediction:
Florida surprisingly took care of Auburn, but let’s not pretend that the game was pretty. Both teams looked bad and the Gators have absolutely no offense. LSU doesn’t have a defense, but the Tigers sure can score and they’re at home.
LSU covers that 13.5 point spread fairly easily.
Penn State at Iowa
Current Spread: Iowa +3.5
Spread Prediction:
I’m just not impressed with Penn State or Iowa. The difference is this: Penn State has a below average offense. Iowa has an absolutely atrocious offense.
Penn State covers the small spread Saturday against Iowa.
So, to review. We’re taking:
- Texas +10.5 vs. Oklahoma
- South Carolina +24 vs. Georgia
- LSU -13.5 vs. Florida
- Penn State -3.5 vs. Iowa
