The Clemson Tigers will take on the Charlotte 49ers Saturday night in Death Valley. Here’s our pick against the spread for the match up.

The Clemson football team left Syracuse Saturday night with an impressive 41-6 victory over the Orange in the Carrier Dome (now known as The Dome).

The Tigers methodically took control of the match up and did an excellent job defensively of holding Syracuse to just two field goals. There were several opportunities, especially after two Clemson turnovers, for the Orange to score and couldn’t come away with anything due to the defense’s absolute dominance.

Here’s our pick against the spread for Clemson’s fourth game of the season, a match up with the Charlotte 49ers.

Pick Against the Spread vs. Charlotte:

Current Spread: Clemson -41.5

Spread Prediction:

The Tigers are 41.5-point favorites heading into this one. Despite the large spread, I think you’ve got to go with Clemson if you’re making a pick. The Tigers are clearly the more talented team and I think the offense is going to look to right the ship a little bit after struggling- just a little bit- in the past couple of games.

I expect a lot points to be scored by the Clemson offense and I expect the defense to do a good job slowing down Charlotte’s offense.

Current Over/Under: 62

Over/Under Prediction:

Honestly, this game feels like it will have a final score of 56-7 or 63-10, something along those lines. I think the game goes ‘over’ because Clemson scores a ton of points. Charlotte has one of the worst run defenses in America and their defensive backs won’t be able to contend with those Tiger wide receivers.

The Tigers score enough points to get the game right to the number and Charlotte has a second half touchdown or score to push it over.
