The Clemson football team is a heavy favorite heading into the home match up with the Charlotte 49ers, which will take place Saturday night.

The Clemson football team is back in the friendly confines of Death Valley this weekend after coming away with a 41-6 victory over Syracuse in the Carrier Dome last Saturday.

The Tigers methodically took control of the game against the Orange and, though they left some points on the field, beat a huge spread of 28 points.

Now, Clemson will return home for a night game. The Tigers will host the Charlotte 49ers at 7:30 p.m. live on the ACC Network.

Here’s a look at the early Vegas odds for the Clemson football team’s match up with Charlotte this weekend.

Early Vegas Odds vs. Charlotte:

Early Spread: Clemson -41

If you thought the spreads against teams like Syracuse (28 points), Texas A&M (19 points) and Georgia Tech (34 points), the Charlotte spread kicks it up a notch.

It should be expected that the Tigers are heavy favorites and that 41-point spread is an indicator of that. Interestingly enough, Charlotte has scored some points in each of its first three games of the season (49, 41, 52), but the 49ers will have trouble moving the ball against the Tigers.

Clemson is the deeper team and the Tigers aren’t going to have any trouble taking care of Charlotte Saturday night.

Now, will the Tigers cover that gigantic spread?

The consensus at this point, as far as where the money is going, is yes. Around 67 percent of the money placed on this game is going on Clemson to cover 41 points. It actually wouldn’t surprise me if Vegas actually raised the spread a point or two before the game kicks off Saturday.
