Clemson Football: 5 Things Trevor Lawrence must do to become the GOAT
5. Just keep winning
The first thing Lawrence must do is fairly simple: Keep winning.
It’s tough to name a player the greatest of all-time, especially a quarterback, if they didn’t win. For good or for bad, quarterbacks are looked at for their win-and-loss record. The best QBs won games and those that didn’t are forgotten.
It’s not just about having the arm talent, pocket presence or ability to put up big numbers.
A quarterback is a guy that could motivate his team to win and gets the job done on the scoreboard, not just the stat sheet. If Lawrence can leave after three years with only a couple of losses to his name and some impressive feats like CFB Playoff berths, ACC Championships and wins over in-state rival South Carolina, that will already propel him into the ‘elite’ category.
