5.  Staff Continuity

Many times, people knock Dabo Swinney’s coaching ability because he has one of the best staffs in the country.

That’s just misguided and completely uniformed analysis.

The reason Swinney has been able to retain such an elite staff for so long is because he’s a great boss. The coaches love working for him because he understands the game and cares about them. That’s an obvious sign of a great coach.

He knows the importance of keeping a group together in the overall development of the program, so he has done just that. He’s able to make decisions in games and coach with the best of them, but he also knows the importance of having great minds around him that he can trust.
