8. Tony Steward

Tony Steward, a member of the Class of 2011, was the highest-rated linebacker to ever sign with Clemson football.

Steward was a 5-star, as was all of the players on this list, and was rated as the No. 1 linebacker in the nation. He was ranked No. 16 nationally.

Unfortunately for Steward, injuries and just bad timing fell upon him and he was never able to really develop into an elite linebacker. He tore his ACL his freshman season and wasn’t really the same after that.

He was  drafted by the Buffalo Bills in 2015, but was released in 2016 after another injury. He signed with both the Patriots and Saints, but injuries still held him from earning a spot on the roster.
