7. CJ Spiller

CJ Spiller was one of the players that started it all for Clemson football.

Spiller, who was rated as the No. 4 running back in the nation in the class of 2006, chose to come to Clemson over Florida even though he was deep in Florida territory.

He played at a high level and even chose to come back for his senior season in 2009, where he carried the Tiger offense to an ACC Championship berth.

Spiller finished his career with 606 attempts for 3,547 yards and 43 total touchdowns.

He was one of the most explosive players to ever step foot on Clemson’s campus. Any time Spiller touched the ball, he was a threat to go the distance.

He was never really able to carry that over the NFL. I think it was because of injuries and the fact that he never really got in the right system. Spiller bounced around and played for several different teams. He has been a great ambassador for Clemson football and even appeared on Clemson’s pre-game show of several games this season.
