4. 2000: Rod Gardner, “The Catch Part II”

With Clemson trailing South Carolina late in the fourth quarter, Woody Dantzler led the Tigers out on the field facing a 3rd and 12 with only 19 seconds left on their own 42-yard line.

What happened next was magic.

Dantzler rolled left and looked back to his right and threw up a bomb down the right side of the field. All-American Rod Gardner made what has to be one of the most controversial plays in the history of the rivalry. Some say he pushed off. Others say he just gave a little love tap.

Either way, Gardner came down with the catch and the Tigers kicked a field goal to secure a 16-14 win over the Gamecocks.
