1. Sometimes revenge means something

I know this isn’t necessarily a reason, but it certainly is a factor.

Alabama completely dominated Clemson football in the 2017 Sugar Bowl matchup. The Tide was dominant along the lines of scrimmage and the Tigers couldn’t even muster one touchdown in the loss.

Typically when good teams play each other, things tend to swing the other way the following time.

If Clemson gets Alabama in the College Football Playoff, guys like Christian Wilkins, Clelin Ferrell, and Travis Etienne will be determined to avenge the outcome of last season.

Dabo Swinney, in his career, has rarely lost back-to-back games to teams. He typically comes back with a game plan that is perfect for his opponent. I don’t think this year will be any different.

Swinney knows how to beat Alabama and I believe he gets the job done this year. It will be interesting to watch and it should be a lot of fun.
