Clemson football has just two regular season games remaining. The game time was announced today for the match up with in-state rival South Carolina.
The 2017 Clemson football season is beginning to come to a close.
We’ve already played 10 games and are down to just two left on the regular season schedule.
The Tigers will host The Citadel this Saturday for the annual purple-out at 12:20 p.m. and then will travel to in-state rival South Carolin to close out the season.
The game time was announced for the last match up of November. Clemson football will play South Carolina under the lights in Williams-Brice Stadium at 7:30 p.m.
The game will be televised nationally on ESPN.
Thoughts:
I know it’s a night game on the road again and most Clemson football fans don’t like that, but I do. I think the rivalry game is always better when held at night.
It gives everyone a chance to make it to the stadium, tailgate and meet up with friends, and then get into their seats for kickoff.
A noon game doesn’t necessarily give everyone that same opportunity.
Williams-Brice Stadium will be sold out, no doubt, for this one as both Clemson and South Carolina fans make their way to Columbia. It should be a good match up and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Gamecocks made their way into the top-25 rankings should a few teams lose this week and they beat Wofford.
It’s probably not likely, but I wouldn’t say impossible at this point. If the Gamecocks could garner a ranking, it would give Clemson another chance to win a tombstone game. Something they’ve already done three times this year (Louisville, Virginia Tech, NC State).
