Clemson football will host ACC rival Florida State on Saturday in Death Valley.

The game has huge implications, but not necessarily what we thought going in. This is an “orange pants” affair for the Tigers as the ACC Atlantic Division Championship is on the line, but it’s not because Clemson is playing Florida State.

The Seminoles are a lackluster 3-5, but are coming off a 27-24 win over Syracuse at home.

There’s no doubt that Florida State will be focused for this one as they would love nothing more than to stun the Clemson football faithful and come away with a win in Death Valley on Saturday.

Here is our pick against the spread for the game.

Current Spread: Clemson -16

Spread Prediction: The game opened up with Clemson football being an 18-point favorite. Since it has dropped a couple of points to 16.

I expect the Tigers to cover the points. I think Clemson comes out passionate and focused. This is a “championship” game for them. The Tigers tend to play their best with the orange pants on and I think they lock up the ACC Atlantic with a convincing win on Saturday.

Florida State will keep it close for a while, but I think the Tigers pull away as we get into the second half.

Current Over/Under: 46

Over/Under Prediction: Clemson went “over” for the first time last week since they beat Louisville. Yes, it has been that long.

If you know trends, that means the game will go “over” this week. At least, one would think. I believe the defense walked away from the NC State game a little disappointed. They may come out with a little extra motivation this week that wouldn’t have been there otherwise.

Next: Scouting Report vs. Florida State

I think the game goes over. Maybe, something like 38-10. I think the Tigers are able to score some points on the Seminole defense and I think Florida State has a little trouble finding the end zone against a passionate Clemson defense.
