Clemson Football Recruiting: Elite prospects visit for Georgia Tech game
Clemson football will host the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in primetime tonight. The Tigers will be playing in front of many talented prospects.
Three 5-star recruits headline the list of prospects making their way to watch Clemson football take on Georgia Tech in Death Valley on Saturday.
The Tigers already boast one of the top 2018 recruiting classes in the nation, but are still looking to add some key pieces.
Here’s a list of notable recruiting prospects that will be on hand for the game against Georgia Tech.
- K.J. Henry, 5-star DE
- Xavier Thomas, 5-star DE Clemson football commit
- Mike Jones, 4-star LB Clemson football commit
- Cade Mayes, 5-star OL
- Noah Cain, 2019 5-star RB
- Michael Tarquin, 2019 4-star OL
Thoughts:
Interestingly enough, both of K.J. Henry’s parents will be on hand for the game tonight. This is the lone official visit that Henry’s father has been to thus far.
I think that bodes well for Clemson football. It also will help that Xavier Thomas, who has been recruiting hard for the Tigers, will be there to talk to Henry and put a little extra persuasion in for Clemson.
5-star offensive lineman Cade Mayes will make his first official visit to Clemson. He committed to Tennessee a couple of years ago, but the Tigers are trying to flip him. I think with every thing going on in Rock Top, Clemson has a great chance to at least make a good impression on him this weekend.
There are also several other 2019 and 2020 prospects that will be in Death Valley for the game tonight.
Obviously, the big focus in K.J. Henry. Henry is one of the best defensive ends in the nation and getting a commitment from him would be huge for Clemson football. This weekend would be a huge part of that if it comes true.
