Clemson football will host Georgia Tech tonight live on ABC in what is expected to be a rain-soaked evening.

The Tigers come into this one ranked No. 7 in the nation with a 6-1 record. Georgia Tech has two losses, both coming by one point.

Here’s our prediction and analysis for Clemson’s match up with the Yellow Jackets.

Analysis:

This one will come down to a few things:

  1. The health of Kelly Bryant. The Clemson football offense has not been able to move the ball effectively, sometimes even with Bryant at quarterback. It’s going to take a Bryant at 100 percent for the Tigers to be effective.
  2. The defense’s focus. Against Syracuse, it was clear that the defense just wasn’t focused. They missed assignments and let wide receivers run wide open down the field. To beat that Tech offense, you have to stay at home and know your assignment.
  3. How does weather play a factor? Look, if it rains, that will make a difference in the game. In my opinion, I think the rain gives Clemson an advantage. Tech has to be able use that pitch effectively and that doesn’t normally go well for them in the rain.

I expect the Tigers to look a lot different from the team we saw in Syracuse two weeks ago, but that won’t stop this one from being a close one.
